Angelina Jolie recently opened up about why some of her children prefer to stay out of the public eye despite having grown up with celebrity parents. In a conversation with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America, Jolie discussed her life and her new film Maria, which tells the story of legendary opera singer Maria Callas. During the interview, Strahan asked Jolie if she felt there was anything in her life that compared to Callas’s deep passion for singing.

Jolie responded with a heartfelt answer: “My motherhood. It’s my happiness. You can take everything else away from me. Nothing else matters.” This emotional reflection highlighted how central her role as a mother is to her well-being, and how little the glitz of fame means in comparison to the love she has for her children.

While Jolie’s career as an award-winning actress and director has kept her in the public eye for decades, she made it clear that her children have very different preferences when it comes to fame. Despite the fact that some of her children have participated in entertainment projects with her, none of them are eager to pursue acting or any other form of public attention.

Jolie explained that her children are all very private individuals, noting, “None of my children want to be in front of the camera. They’re quite private.” She specifically mentioned her daughter Shiloh, who is “extremely private,” adding that her children were “not born with privacy” and that she hopes they will be able to enjoy the privacy that they deserve as they grow older.

This desire for privacy is not surprising given the intense media scrutiny that has followed Jolie’s family for years. Jolie and her ex-husband, actor Brad Pitt, have six children together: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox. Their family has frequently made headlines, and their children have grown up surrounded by the public eye since birth. Despite this, Jolie has always prioritized their well-being and has been protective of their privacy.

Jolie’s comments shed light on the challenges of raising children in the entertainment industry, particularly when they are thrust into the spotlight from such a young age. Though they may be surrounded by fame, her children have expressed a strong desire for a more private life, free from constant media attention. Jolie has consistently emphasized the importance of allowing her children to carve out their own identities and pursue their own interests without feeling pressure to conform to public expectations.

In addition to her children’s desire for privacy, Jolie also shared her perspective on the value of family and motherhood. While she is known for her successful career in Hollywood, her children remain her highest priority. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that they lead as normal a life as possible, despite the challenges that come with their famous last name.

Jolie’s reflections during her Good Morning America interview not only gave insight into her own views on motherhood but also highlighted the importance she places on her children’s happiness and sense of normalcy. As a mother of six, Jolie is deeply focused on protecting her children’s privacy and allowing them to live their lives on their own terms.

Ultimately, the conversation served as a reminder of the reality that, for some children of celebrities, the spotlight is not a place they desire to be. Despite their connection to a well-known mother, Jolie’s children have made it clear that they value their privacy and prefer to live out of the public eye. Jolie, in turn, continues to support them in their choices, always prioritizing their well-being and peace of mind above everything else.
