Kwabena Yeboah, a familiar face of stage actors well known for his lively performances with Uncle Ebo Whyte‘s Roverman Productions, is no more.
The news of his death surfaced online on April 25, 2025. So far, the reason behind his death has not been declared, nor has an official statement been released by Uncle Ebo Whyte or Roverman Productions.
Kenneth Nii Saki Sackey, Roverman’s colleague at the Communications Department, appeared to confirm the sad news with a symbolic move – a lit burning candle Facebook post.
The artistic community has cried over his demise since his confirmation. Image Bureau CEO and thespian George Quaye testified about his pain on Facebook:
“Waaah! KY! Sleep well bro! Deepest sympathy to your family, Uncle Ebo Whyte, and the Roverman team! This is so sad!”
Kwabena, fondly called “KY” by mates and friends, was an alumnus of Opoku Ware Senior High School and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He was a star actor in Roverman Productions, featured in numerous of Uncle Ebo‘s favorite stage plays.
His final role was in “I Want To Feed You,” where he played a pastor — a performance that won him admiration from audiences and critics alike. (Read more: ‘I Want To Feed You’ is a Feast of Laughter.)
Kwabena‘s last Facebook update, of January 26, 2025, gave a very moving glimpse of his commitment to his job. Uploading an image of a new haircut, he wrote, “Things we do for work and passion.”
His death is an unfortunate loss to the world of Ghanaian theatre and to everyone who appreciated his artistry and personality.
