Tragedy struck on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway as a bus accident near Twin Bridge resulted in one fatality. The bus, operated by Simba Bus Company, collided with a stationary truck before hitting another vehicle. This chain of events caused the bus to veer off the road and overturn into a ditch.
Kuresoi North Sub-County Police Commander Judah Gathenge confirmed the incident and reported that rescue operations are ongoing to free several passengers trapped in the wreckage.
Motorists have been advised to exercise heightened caution on this perilous stretch of road, which has a history of deadly accidents. Just earlier this week, a catastrophic crash in the Migaa area claimed 14 lives when a Coast bus, reportedly experiencing brake failure, slammed into a smaller vehicle.
The recent accident has resulted in significant traffic congestion on the highway. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes while the Red Cross response team works to assist survivors and clear the scene.
