Embu County Commissioner Jack Obuo has announced that approximately 6,400 replacement National Identity Cards are now available for pickup at the Huduma Center. These IDs are for residents who requested replacements through the center from September of last year through July of this year.
In a statement made from his office on Wednesday, Commissioner Obuo urged individuals to collect their replacement IDs promptly. He emphasized that having these cards is crucial for continued access to government services.
The Commissioner explained that the delay in the issuance of these IDs was due to a malfunction of the printers, an issue that has since been resolved with the acquisition of new printing equipment.
Additionally, Obuo encouraged those who applied for new registrations at various National Registration Bureaus across the county to remain proactive in following up with these offices. He reassured applicants that the process is now more efficient, thanks to enhancements in both staffing and technology within the Department of Registration of Persons.
“Production is now running smoothly, and applicants can expect to receive their IDs within a month of registration,” he said.
