Anna 'Delvey' Sorokin and Ezra Sosa on 'Dancing with the Stars.

Anna Sorokin, known for her high-society scams, has made headlines again—this time for her brief stint on “Dancing with the Stars.” Having spent nearly four years in prison for multiple financial crimes, Sorokin and her dance partner, Ezra Sosa, were eliminated during a recent episode of the popular ABC competition.

In a post-elimination interview with co-host Julianne Hough, Sorokin appeared nonchalant when asked what she would take away from her time on the show. “Nothing,” she replied, accompanied by a brief laugh that hinted at her indifference.

Sorokin’s rapid exit from the competition wasn’t surprising, as she was one of the first contestants eliminated, alongside actress Tori Spelling and her partner, Pasha Pashkov. Despite the short-lived experience, Sorokin’s ambivalence continued to shine through in her follow-up interview with “Good Morning America.” When asked about her feelings regarding her participation, she simply described it as “a new experience.”

However, when pressed about her favorite part of being on the show, Sorokin’s candidness returned. “Getting eliminated,” she said, giggling at the irony of her situation. While she admitted to feeling “very sad, obviously,” about being cut so early, she also lamented that the “second chance” she sought following her legal troubles had now been “wasted.”

Sorokin’s notoriety stems from her 2019 conviction for grand larceny and other financial crimes, which included stealing over $200,000. By masquerading as a German heiress with a substantial trust fund, she financed a lavish lifestyle that ultimately led to her arrest. After serving two years in prison, Sorokin was detained for an additional 18 months by immigration authorities due to her visa overstay.

Her life inspired the Netflix series “Inventing Anna,” which starred Emmy-winner Julia Garner and brought further attention to her extravagant exploits. Sorokin’s story has captured public fascination, not only for the audacity of her scams but also for her subsequent transformation into a figure of intrigue.

Currently, Sorokin is living under house arrest in New York, equipped with an ankle monitoring device, as she appeals her deportation order. She has previously revealed that she obtained permission from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to travel to Los Angeles for the “Dancing with the Stars” production. Notably, her bejeweled ankle monitor became a viral sensation during her time on the show, serving as a stark reminder of her complex legal situation.

While her time on the dance floor was short-lived, Sorokin’s personality continues to engage audiences, leaving many curious about her next moves. Despite her seemingly carefree demeanor, her remarks reveal a deeper disappointment with her current circumstances, particularly regarding her desire for a second chance.

In an entertainment landscape that often glorifies comebacks, Sorokin’s experience serves as a reminder that the road to redemption is rarely straightforward. Her humorous yet pointed comments about elimination reflect a complex mixture of resilience and resignation, as she navigates the challenges of life after incarceration.

As the season progresses without her, many will undoubtedly continue to follow Sorokin’s journey, both on-screen and off. Her unique perspective, shaped by a history of deceit and a desire for reinvention, will likely remain a topic of conversation. In the world of reality TV, where personalities often overshadow narratives, Sorokin stands out—not just for her past but for her willingness to engage with it in unexpected ways.

As she moves forward, it will be interesting to see how Sorokin leverages her notoriety and whether she can find a path that aligns with her ambitions, beyond the ballroom. For now, she may be leaving the dance floor behind, but her story continues to unfold, captivating audiences eager for the next chapter.
