Former President Donald Trump made controversial remarks at an event commemorating the first anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attacks in Israel. He vowed to “remove the Jew haters” if reelected, promising to protect Jewish communities in the U.S. and accusing the Democratic Party of harboring anti-Jewish sentiments. Trump did not clarify who he meant by “Jew haters” but suggested that anti-Jewish hatred is prevalent in American society and particularly within the Democratic Party.

During his speech, he emphasized the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship and claimed that it would be stronger under his presidency. He also expressed disappointment in Jewish voters for not supporting him in the 2020 election and made past statements tying Jewish loyalty to their political affiliations. Trump has faced criticism for his use of antisemitic tropes in the past, including claims that Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats are betraying their faith and Israel.
