South African rapper and Love and Hip Hop SA star Da L.E.S is expressing immense gratitude for his life after suffering a stroke in July, a health scare that shook both his fans and family. The rapper, whose real name is Leslie Mampe, marked his 39th birthday by experiencing the life-threatening stroke, but he is now on the road to recovery, and has taken to social media to thank God and his supporters for their prayers and encouragement.

On Monday, an update on Da L.E.S’s condition was shared through his official Instagram, where it was confirmed that he is receiving rehabilitation and making steady progress. “He is taking things slow, with the support of his loving family,” the post explained, highlighting the importance of his recovery process.

In his statement, Da L.E.S expressed deep gratitude for being alive, calling his survival a “miracle.” He acknowledged the strength and perseverance that God has given him during this difficult time, saying, “I owe it all to God.” The rapper also thanked his fans, friends, and loved ones for their outpouring of love, support, and prayers, which have provided him with strength during his recovery. “Healing takes time,” he added, “but I’m staying positive and focused on full recovery.”

His family had earlier confirmed the news of his stroke with a statement posted on Instagram, revealing that the incident occurred on Da L.E.S’s birthday. His absence from his birthday celebrations raised concerns, and the family later disclosed that while he was in a stable condition, it was still a difficult time for them. “This remains a challenging time for his loved ones,” the Mampe family said, calling on the public to keep Da L.E.S in their thoughts and prayers. They promised to keep everyone informed as more updates on his health became available.

A recent post from his barber, Amukelani Chauke, showed a video of Da L.E.S getting a haircut, accompanied by the hopeful message, “Everything is going to be alright.” This small but meaningful moment gave fans a glimpse into his recovery, showing that despite the long road ahead, the rapper’s spirits are lifted by the support around him.

In the wake of his stroke, several public figures have shared their own experiences with similar health issues. South African musician Lira, who also suffered a stroke earlier, took to Instagram on World Stroke Day to raise awareness about the condition, emphasizing that strokes are not just a concern for the elderly. “I’ve met so many young people who have had a stroke. It happens more than you realise,” Lira shared, encouraging her followers to be mindful of their health and lifestyle choices. She noted that many young people, including herself, don’t rest enough and are under significant stress, both of which can increase the risk of a stroke.

Lira, who is also in recovery, shared her progress with fans, expressing gratitude for being alive and able to return to the stage. “I’m still in recovery, but I’ve made huge progress, and I’m happy to share that with people,” she said in a recent interview. “It’s a privilege to be alive,” she added, reflecting on how life-altering the stroke had been for her.

Da L.E.S’s own recovery journey mirrors the experiences of others who have faced similar health crises. The rapper’s openness about his condition and the support he’s received highlights the importance of community and faith during times of hardship. Fans have expressed relief and joy at his continued progress, with many showing their admiration for his resilience and strength in the face of adversity.

As he focuses on his recovery, Da L.E.S continues to share updates with his followers, who eagerly await each milestone on his path to full recovery. His journey is not only a testament to the power of faith but also to the love and dedication of his family, friends, and fans who have been with him every step of the way.

While the road to full recovery is long, Da L.E.S remains optimistic, with his positive outlook and determination serving as an inspiration to many who are facing their own struggles. “I’ll keep everyone updated as I heal,” he wrote, “and I appreciate all the continued encouragement.”

Through these challenging times, Da L.E.S’s story serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the strength of the human spirit. His ongoing recovery is not just a personal victory but also a beacon of hope for others who may be navigating similar battles.
