Get ready for the highly anticipated Goldfields Game Ranch Trail Run, set to take place on Saturday, November 16. This year’s event carries the theme “Unwrap the Gift of Blessings,” inviting participants to enjoy a scenic run through the stunning game reserve that surrounds the lodge.
Vista, the event’s media sponsor, has partnered with The Blessings Animal Shelter in Welkom as the event’s beneficiary. This initiative aims to not only promote fitness but also to give back to the community by supporting local animal welfare.
Hilde du Plessis, chairperson of the Eskom Athletic Club Free State and the event organizer, encourages everyone to get involved. “We invite the community to participate and contribute generously—be it through monetary donations or much-needed food supplies for The Blessings Animal Shelter located on Alma Road,” she says.
Pre-registration for the event is available online at entryninja.com, or participants can register in person at various locations across Welkom. The registration desk will open on the day of the run from 6:30 AM until 30 minutes before each race begins, ensuring ample opportunity for everyone to join in.
Flyers detailing the event can be found at several local businesses, including Sydney’s Cars, Koppie Alleen Road, Phakisa Signs at 126 Constantia Road, and of course, The Blessings Animal Shelter itself at 5 Alma Road. Additional registration points include Lesedi ICT at 395 Stateway, the Vista offices, Shepherd Alarms in Riebeeckstad, and the Goldfields Game Ranch outside of Virginia.
For those looking for updates and more information, Vista will share details on its Facebook page and on news24.com.
Participants can look forward to receiving medals, with various lucky draws and cash prizes on offer throughout the day. Additionally, a range of products will be available for purchase, with proceeds going to support the animal shelter. The event caters to all ages and abilities, offering various race categories that promote family involvement, workplace camaraderie, and a spirit of fitness within the community.
An exciting atmosphere awaits all participants and their supporters. To add to the fun, everyone is encouraged to dress up as their favorite animal for a chance to win special prizes. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy live music and entertainment. However, please note that pets are not permitted at the event.
This trail run is more than just a race; it’s an opportunity to come together as a community, enjoy the outdoors, and make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need. So lace up your running shoes, gather your friends and family, and join us for a day filled with fun, fitness, and compassion. Let’s make a difference together on November 16!
