Week 10 of the NFL season was packed with drama, surprise results, and individual standout performances that made for a thrilling Sunday of action.

Kyler Murray’s Historic Performance Leads Cardinals to Win

The Arizona Cardinals delivered a dominant 31-6 victory over the New York Jets, largely due to the stellar play of quarterback Kyler Murray. Murray, who has had an up-and-down season, was nearly perfect, completing 22 of 24 passes for 250 yards and throwing for one touchdown while rushing for two more scores. His 85% completion rate set an NFL record for the highest mark in a game with 250 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Murray also broke the Cardinals’ record for consecutive completions, hitting 17 in a row to surpass Carson Palmer’s 16. After the game, head coach Jonathan Gannon hailed his quarterback, calling him “the best player on the planet today.” Despite a heavy sack midway through the game that caused his helmet to fly off, Murray got back up without hesitation, joking with his opponents as he continued to lead the Cardinals to their fourth straight victory.

The victory was also aided by a defense that has been on fire in recent weeks, allowing fewer than 10 points for the second consecutive game. The Cardinals’ defense has not allowed a home touchdown in three straight games, a feat they hadn’t accomplished since 1926. This performance helped Arizona stay atop the NFC West with a 6-4 record, while the Jets, now 3-7, saw their playoff hopes continue to fade.

Deebo Samuel Pushes Teammate in 49ers’ Narrow Win

The San Francisco 49ers secured a dramatic 23-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Jake Moody hitting a game-winning field goal as time expired. However, the victory was overshadowed by an on-field altercation between star receiver Deebo Samuel, kicker Jake Moody, and long snapper Taybor Pepper.

Moody had missed three field goals earlier in the game, and after his third miss, Samuel was seen pushing Pepper and exchanging heated words. Samuel’s frustration boiled over as he grabbed Pepper by the throat and shoved him, accidentally hitting Moody’s helmet in the process. Despite the tensions, Samuel later downplayed the incident, admitting he got “out of character” but praised Moody for hitting the clutch game-winner.

Moody, a second-year kicker, shrugged off the confrontation, focusing instead on the win. “You just move past it and we won, so that’s all that matters,” he said. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was understanding, acknowledging the pressure but praising Moody for his mental toughness in stepping up when it mattered most.

The win brought the 49ers to a 5-4 record, a significant turnaround after a rough start to the season.

Saints End Seven-Game Losing Streak with Win Over Falcons

The New Orleans Saints finally ended their seven-game losing streak with a 20-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons, their first game under interim head coach Darren Rizzi. The victory was a much-needed morale boost for a team that has struggled throughout the season.

Derek Carr threw two touchdown passes to Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the first half, giving the Saints a 17-3 lead at halftime. Though their offense stalled in the second half, the Saints’ defense stepped up in critical moments, with Tyrann Mathieu intercepting Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins late in the fourth quarter to seal the win. The Falcons, despite the loss, remain atop the NFC South at 6-4, thanks to the Buccaneers’ defeat to the 49ers.

Rizzi, who had a quirky start to his day after accidentally clogging the head coach’s toilet at the Superdome, praised his team’s resilience and commitment. “Nothing substitutes good preparation,” he said after the win. Despite a tough day personally—he was hit by a Saints player and temporarily lost feeling in his arm—Rizzi was elated with the result.
