Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell is putting his home on the market, citing “safety concerns” as the primary reason for the decision. In an interview with Crain’s Detroit Business, Campbell expressed his fondness for the property, which boasts two acres and beautiful surroundings. However, the situation changed after fans discovered his address following a tough loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Campbell explained, “There’s plenty of space, it’s on two acres, the home is beautiful. It’s just that people figured out where we lived when we lost.” The revelation of his location led to an unsettling environment for Campbell and his family, prompting them to take action. Realtor Ashley Crain, who is handling the sale, confirmed to CNN Sports that a police report was filed after Campbell’s address was leaked, leading to unwanted pranks and harassment.
Crain noted that the family has already relocated to a new residence and listed their previous home at $4.5 million, securing a deal within just 24 hours. “Dan and Holly Campbell are Detroit treasures,” she remarked. “We were so happy to help their family when the situation arose. Now, he can focus on what he does best!”
The Bloomfield Township Police Department, while not naming Campbell, issued a statement acknowledging their awareness of the incidents. They emphasized their commitment to community safety, asserting that harassment of any kind would not be tolerated. The department urged fans to respect the privacy of individuals and their families.
Dan Campbell joined the Lions in 2021, and after a challenging first season, he has significantly contributed to transforming the team into a formidable contender in the NFL. Last season, the Lions narrowly lost the NFC Championship game to the San Francisco 49ers with a score of 34-31, falling short of reaching their first Super Bowl.
