Alize van der Merwe Released After Kidnapping in Eastern Cape

Alize van der Merwe was allegedly kidnapped while travelling to Umngazi Resort in the Eastern Cape on Friday.
Alize van der Merwe, who was abducted while traveling alone in the Eastern Cape on Friday, has been safely released. According to Warrant Officer Ndiphiwe Mhlakuvana, a spokesperson for the Hawks, Van der Merwe and another woman were dropped off at a police station in Sulenkama on Thursday.
Following their release, the Hawks reported that both women were visibly traumatized by their ordeal. They were subsequently taken to a hospital for medical evaluation and care.
